It is very important for Drankhuis, a liquor store belonging to the Drankhuis.online webshop, that alcohol is sold in a responsible manner, also online. Drankhuis absolutely does not want to sell alcohol to young people under the age of eighteen.
This page provides insight into the way in which Drankhuis.online implements this responsible distance selling. This meets the requirement set out in Article 20A paragraph 1 sub b of the Alcohol Act, applicable from 1 July 2021, that a method must be available that guarantees that the alcoholic beverage is only delivered to the address of the purchaser or to a distribution point, that the age of the person ordering the alcoholic beverage is determined on site before handing over the package exclusively to this person ordering it and that this method is also used.
This page is always up to date and is revised annually. In any case, the update takes place:
The document contains a description of:
Drankhuis.online has an age check upon entering the website where the customer must enter his or her age. An age will also be requested and confirmed when creating an account and/or placing an order on this website. Ages under 18 are not accepted when creating an account and/or placing an order.
It is clearly stated on the order page before finalizing the order that there is an identification requirement for the orderer when receiving the drink package at the order address and at the distribution point. If the orderer is not at home at the time of delivery, the package will never be delivered to a location other than a distribution point, unless it is returned to the liquor store's warehouse by its own delivery person.
The automatic confirmation of receipt of the order also clearly repeats that the purchaser is obliged to provide proof of identity when receiving the drink package at the order address or at the distribution point and that the package is only given to the purchaser.
Furthermore, a NIX18 logo has been placed at the bottom of the main page and on every product page of the website.
After a successful order on this website, it will be sent via your own delivery person or via a postal company, both with an age verification at the door. Through these measures we hope to prevent the sale of alcohol to minors.
All our employees and deliverers are aware that there is an age restriction on the products in the liquor store and on this webshop. When these products reach the checkout, age verification will therefore be requested if in doubt. In this webshop, this is done by means of an age verification when wanting to gain access to the webshop, when creating an account and when placing an order. Ages under 18 are not accepted when accessing the site, creating an account and/or placing an order.
The working method/procedure for the sale of alcohol to adults and the associated identification obligation (also for delivery) are explained to new employees in a standard and thorough manner. Reference is also made to the available Nix18 material that can be viewed on the website.
All employees receive an internal refresher course at least once a year on the procedure for responsible distance selling of alcohol.
Just like the age verification checks on the website, there are also checks in the shipping process when processing the order. The age verification procedure on delivery is known to all our employees and the customer has been informed of this in the ordering process before and after placing the order. When using the services of a postal company, we use the service of delivery with identification requirement. The (own or postal) delivery person does the age verification at the door, using a valid proof of identity, before the package is handed over. Please note: this handover is only made to the adult person who placed the order! It is therefore not possible for the deliverer to deliver the package to the neighbors or elsewhere than a distribution point. When collecting the package at a distribution point, the orderer will also have to identify himself before the package is handed over. If the package is returned to the liquor store without a new delivery option, the package can be picked up in the liquor store by the customer under the same condition of proof of identity.
At least once a year, an investigation must be carried out into the implementation of the guaranteed working method and the applicable obligations. Drankhuis will evaluate annually whether this guaranteed working method still meets the requirements. In this context, a random check is carried out within the own organization at least once a year to check whether employees are indeed complying with this guaranteed working method and the applicable obligations. This is done by going through every step in the process and checking whether all checks on the website are still up-to-date and working, but also whether the delivery to the door with identification verification is in accordance with the procedure. If a postal company is used, the tracking system will assess whether it complies with the terms of service.
Thank you very much for your interest and understanding. If you have any questions or points for improvement as a result of our working method, you can always contact us via info@drankhuis.online .
